Why does the oldest kid get the short end of the stick?

Because they tend to be - everybody I know who is the youngest is smarter, cuter and better adjusted than their older siblings.

The oldest child has to pave the way for the younger children. The younger has learned from the older child's mistakes. There is some truth in fairy tales, I guess. :)

I dunno. It's the same thing with commercials. The young kid has all the answers and the older ones and the G'rups appear to be stupid.
