They obviously never watched him play in college. he sucked, i mean come on he got sacked 13 times in one game, what does that say! he was hurt every year except the last one and he sucked, hopefully the chiefs will open their eyes and see that!

The answer to all your questions is money. Brodie Croyle was a relatively high draft pick, and is making a corresponding salary. I guarantee you the Chiefs wanted very much for Croyle to win the starting job, with Damon Huard as his back-up. So they gave him every opportunity to do so. And they will do it again next year.

They feel he has upside potential in that he has a strong passing arm. However, it will take him awhile to adjust to the speed of NFL defenses. Even someone like Peyton Manning had to endure a horrible first year before he made his adjustments.
I will add this though in that I watched Croyle play at Alabama and while a good quarterback I didn't think he was all that special.

Maybe they felt Printers played weaker defenses so he shined based on that. Maybe they think Printers is as good as he gets and they are hoping Croyle has more talent when he reaches his peak. Honestly though I don't know.

Hello, Herm Edwards and Carl Peterson don't have any football sense. I have watched the decline of the Chiefs into the Chefs under Herm. And this year they will be challenging the Raiders and Browns for the worst record and #1 pick.

I wish I knew--but it really does seem arbitrary. I think they should not be starting Garrard or Croyal and Printers should get the nod.

Unfortunately, it's going to be a long season for Chiefs fans unless the coaching staff gets its act together and let's Printers do his thang.

Pre-season only counts in hand grenades and horse shoes..
No team is going to show what their hot running starter can do in the pre-season. Why would they allow other teams they have to play to get good tape on them before the season started??? That would be like saying "here have a couple of pages out of our play book just to get you up to speed on us".

You have to remember that this is the team that went out of their way to hire Herm "the loser" as their head coach.

This is crazy. I can't believe they drafted him thinking he could start in the NFL. He was way overrated in college.
