Blah Blah Blah.... I'm 34 weeks too, and on #3. I HAVE to have my Diet Coke every day, sometimes 2 or 3!! Plus, it has to have LOTS of ice and a squeeze of real lemon in it too! I try to make sure I throw in a couple of glasses of ice water (with lemon of course~ can you figure out my wierd craving yet?), orange juice (calcium fortified), or chocolate milk too. Just make sure you round out your diet with fruit and veggies, don't worry about your soda cravings. If you're drinking real Coke, not diet, then I would just watch the weight gain factor! Although, I've gained 46 pounds already, and dammit, I'm drinking DIET COKE!! Just enjoy, my children are all healthy despite my pregnancy weight gains and sodas!

Caffine is bad for you regardless if you are pregnant or not. Doctors are always saying to stay away from it all the time. My doctor explained to me to only intake I think she said about 280 mg of caffine a day. She said a generous two cups of coffee a day. Cokes cans are about 35 mg. As long as you're drinking things other than soda all day, like making sure you get your 10 glasses of water or more, staying hydrated, then I'm sure you're fine. But I was told to stay away from diet sodas.

well if u've been doing this ur whole pregnancy i dont think it's going to make much difference now. ur not supposed to drink a lot of caffeine when ur pregnant. if u want, try drinking decaf coke and u should be careful with ur sugar intake anyways. maybe just find another drink, healthier drink for the duration.

Just remember that whatever you drink, your baby drinks. Would you want your baby to drink 3 or more cups of coke per day? Probably not.

From what I have been told you should not have more that two cups/servings of anything with caffeine a day. Coke has caffeine and is not good for you anyway. You should probably cut back to two cups a day at least.
good luck!

Of course you shouldn't drink a lot of soda. It has phosphorus in it that is depriving you & the baby of calcium & the carbonation will cause constipation. Plus the added empty calories may contribute to excess weight gain.

you are doing no harm, but not doing any good either. I understand, some days you just HAVE to drink a dr. pepper (or 2 or 3!!). As long as everything is progressing well then don't worry too much.

My doctor told me pregnant women need A LOT of water. Pop really isn't good for you because of the caffine. I'd try to cut back or at least start drinking caffine free.

Try to get a fair amount of water in there too =) I'm sure you'll be fine. I love drinking Pepsi even though people don't like the idea of it. lol.
