carb-ivores. If the average diet is so devoid of fresh fruits and vegetables, do you think we could actually someday evolve out of our need for them?

I AM a church type -- VERY.
I don't happen to believe that evolution and creationism are mutually exclusive. Evolution is nothing more than the adaptation of the species. Case in point: In America for many years we pulled wisdom teeth to make way for corrective orthodontia. Now children are being born without wisdom teeth. Save the jokes about children being born with NO teeth. You know what I mean. ;0)

I think one reason human beings as a species have survived so long and through so much hardship is because we can survive on a variety of different foods. So the answer is no. I think the adaptation you describe would be a step backwards, not a step forwards in evolution.

Nah- too impractical with our current population levels- if our population levels continue to rise we'll probably have to go the other way and be mostly vegetarian for practicalities sake, as it's far more efficient to eat all the food you put into a cow rather than just the cow itself. We should be dead before this happens, which is just as well. I'd rather not think about a world without steak...
Besides, it's only us lardarse westerners who can afford a high meat diet.
By the way, for zero1- you asked for proof of the existence of evolution (which is just a theory anyway - I know you theologans have a need for black and white certainty so I won't try to explain to you why this distinction doesn't devalue it...)- I thought I'd borrow some of the more compelling arguments for the existence of a God (A concept that comes across as more of a threat than a theory, but anyway)...
Evolution loves you
Evolution will smite you if you don't believe in it
Evolution is written in a book. A BOOK!!

Comet Girl be hit'in the Bong this afternoon
--But Seriously. Evolution of any species will occur when their environment is changed in such a way where they have to adapt to survive or there is no longer a need for a psychical part (our 'tail' bone for example) If the human race was devoid of plant matter, ya we would become strictly carnivores and not the omnivores we are today.
About Evolution - Who says that a 'God' didn't create man and his (or her) plan wasn't for us to learn and evolve. Just because 'we were created in his likeness', doesn't mean he planed on us to always stay that way.

It depends on how you define "god". To many believers, God wouldn't be phased by a black hole (remember, he is supposed to be all-powerful, meaning escaping a pathetic little black hole should be no problem). As for immortality, I'm convince that, if we were to achieve it, it would be through no small contribution from technology rather than simply evolution. I'm not convinced that immortality is all its cracked up to be, though.

First, you have to prove, with conclusive scientific evidence, any substantiation of evolution at all.
