For serious gamers build your own.
When you build your own you will use all standard components; use a power supply that can handle any video card and motherboard; and choose a motherboard that can be upgraded to the latest CPU. Most prebuilt systems do not do this and for this reason it much easier and cheaper to update a computer later that you built than a prebuilt system.

Being a longtime computer user, my favorites have seen mergers and acquisitions and some have even not been heard of in a while.
A lasting one was Compaq, and I like those a lot. They are now a part of HP, they used to be part of TI (Texas Instruments).
For an overall brand, HP is my choice..
As for imports, a recent acquisition is Toshiba, but I have issues with the placing of the laptop keys among other things.

i admire Dell because of the fact we use it at artwork and that i've got one at residing house...in no way had a difficulty with the hardware...human beings at Dell that I even have spoken to have been very supportive..there expenses i think in good condition...
