Everyteam week 1 in football has to punt at least twice but it is only the sunday games not the thursday or monday night games.

That's almost a guarantee. how could you not punt twice? That ould have to be a lot of turnovers or a lot fo scores. I remember the Colst didnt punt against the Chiefs in the playoffs a few years ago, but I mean come on...........

After applying due consideration to this question and checking the statistics for the past several years I have determined that some teams will indeed punt more than once, others more than twice and even fewer more than 6 times. Punting originally started when a team failed to be able to move the ball due to a lack of talent or a lack of coaching or a lack of play calling. Now though it is used quite often as a means to pin the other team deep in their own territory while covering up your teams inability to produce. It does not matter if you have talent or not. Just punt the ball away often enough and your teams reputation will follow shortly after. As Hoss Cartwright once said "Ya know Pa, I believe I'm gonna try that. It worked for Little Joe".
