Fan traditions and actions are what bring charm to a specific sports game. This is even truer for college sports. Whether it is the WE ARE… PENN STATE chant for Penn State football or the fans in Syracuse standing and clapping their hands at the beginning of each half until the basketball team hits their first shot… these bleacher traditions make the games more exciting.

What is your favorite Fan Traditions/Action for both college football and basketball?

Myself, I love the Notre Dame alma mater sing along at the end of games with the football team… even after a loss. I love the two traditions I listed above too. The Syracuse hand clapping thing is always fun.

So many great traditions, but my favorite is the singing of BOTH alma maters after the Army - Navy game. Particularly the fact that both teams participate in it as a group. Kind of reminds you that sportsmanship, while getting more and more difficult to find, is still alive and kicking.

they have a wealthy custom and super followers, yet i'm no longer probable a fan. Adolph Rupp replaced right into a racist and John Calipari is shady. UMass and Memphis the two had their very final 4 appearances vacated below Calipari because of the fact they broke NCAA regulations. All Calipari cares approximately is triumphing and he's no longer against breaking some regulations to make it ensue. All he does is recruit one and finished gamers, and his software is a basketball production unit. i does no longer believe him as far as i ought to throw him.

Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls...
The ONE
The ONLY
The TRULY Incomparable...
Leland Stanford.. Junior...

MARCHING BAND !!

Stanford's National Anthem is one of the best.. a single trumpet to start, slowly building to the whole band.

Sadly, post 9-11 they got rid of the air-cannon that used to signal each home-score... I grew up with that from the 1970's to 2000. They now use an airhorn "liberated" from a CalTrain locomotive.

Stanford also used to have ACRES of parking on their practice fields...so tailgating was done on grass !!

As a Kansas basketball fan...nothing can bring goosebumps like hearing "Rock...Chalk...Jay-hawk...KU!" after a basketball game, especially when the Jayhawks win.
