Yes, I received money from the "tooth fairy" and got stuff in my stocking at Christmas time. So did my wife. And we have continued the tradition with our children for as long as they believed. One time with the tooth fairy, my wife and I were both very tired, and we fell asleep after our kids had gone to bed, and when we woke we were so groggy we just went to bed and we forgot to put $1 (inflation) under our sons pillow. He woke up in the morning and said in a loud teary voice "THE TOOTH FAIRY DIDN'T COME!!!". I had to think real fast, and fortunately our name is towards the end of the alphabet, so I told our son, "The tooth fairy has to go to people's houses in alphabetical order, and sometimes runs out of time depending on how many teeth there are to pick up. But the tooth fairy has to go to the remaining houses first the next night, and has to pay double for the teeth that the tooth fairy didn't get the night before." So it cost us $2 the next night. Our other son heard this explanation and said "I hope the tooth fairy misses our house the next time I lose a tooth." So of course we had to make it even and he ended up with $2 the next time that he lost a tooth. And we always made sure from that point on that we always put the $1 under our sons' pillow.

Yes, it was a tradition, starting out with a quarter and ending with a crisp dollar bill. I could hardly sleep with the anticipation. You can do all the wonderful, magical things of childhood for your own children someday, and experience what your parents failed to do for you. The Easter bunny, Valentine's cookies, a special little pillow with a pocket to hold that little tooth, Halloween costumes, fairy wings and magic wands and every other good thing you can imagine...especially a Christmas stocking stuffed so full it's overflowing. Love your parents anyway; let's just assume they weren't very creative.

Thats so sad that they never did that for you!!!
This is one of the best parts of growing up!
Everytime I lost a tooth I would get either 10 cents ((small ones)), 50 cents ((Bigger ones)) or a dollar ((the front teeth and mollars)) It was the best feeling ever putting that tooth under my pillow and not being able to fall asleep and when I do I wake up anxious and rip that pillow off my bed to discover the treasure from the tooth fairy. She was a nice lady, even left me a note one time reminding me to keep brushing and flossing.. lol

Yes, I had the whole pantheon of invisible figures in my childhood. I plan on continuing the tradition with my children. I was 12 when my sister was born, and when she started getting old enough to enjoy christmas, she loved the idea of santa. And she loved getting money from the tooth fairy.

Oh, yeah, all the time- if my mom hadn't told me SHE was the Tooth Fairy when I was about 9 or so, I probably would still believe in her...I'm very gullible. I got $100 from the "Tooth Fairy" when I got my wisdom teeth out last year, LOL.

I usually got a quarter per tooth. I loved getting a quarter from the tooth fairy! But one time I got a dollar. I liked the quarters better. I was a dumb kid.

I never received money under my pillow, but I did have a gay dentist that gave me money for my teeth. I guess you could call him a tooth fairy.
