The average is 7-8 lbs. It used to be less but this is the weight gain of a healthy, normal fetus. :)

The average baby weighs approximately 7 1/2 pounds at birth (all of which is a "gain" since the baby baby weighed nothing before s/he was conceived).

The weight varies from woman to woman. Many things can effect the fetus weight such as parental lifestyle, medicines, etc... The main and most important thing is that the fetus is healthy.
