With Canada up 6 - 0 in games in an 8 game series, are you watching?
How do you think this series reflects on the quality of international hockey?
What does this say about US junior hockey considering their showing in an exhibition game before the series?

Ronnie G. the booing of national antems happens on both sides. Just goes to prove a border can't prevent the breeding of stupidity. I'll apologize for those on my side.

Not paying much attention. Just try and catch the highlights of each game. The games I watched, it was like men playing against boys. Very proud of the team, but unfortunately it isn't very entertaining to watch that kind of domination.

In response to Ronnie, tough. Guess you forgot the Canadian national anthem getting booed is San José, hanging our flag upside down at the World Series, etc, etc, etc. Not saying its right at all, but your memory is being a little but selective. Not trying to offend, just pointing out it happens both ways.

Have you been drinking Lake Ontario water again? lol Sorry, I've been dying to use that line. The Russians are still a powerhouse. I agree that they haven't been the same during the Cold War, but they are still better than the Swedes or the Finns. And the Summit Series wasn't "designed" to give any country bragging rights. The USSR dominated international hockey for almost three decades (from the '50s to the '80s) by winning more gold medals than any other nation by a wide margin so it would be foolish for the communists to agree to such terms. The Super Series is supposed to "celebrate" the Summit Series, nothing more. It's just a marketing ploy to generate some money (and man, have they succeeded by getting it off hockey-starved fans). It's not even an official tournament; it's an exhibition. It doesn't mean anything, but, as you said before, bragging rights.

I have been watching, although I have been flicking back and forth to the Jays game the past few nights. The Russians have some good players, even if they are crap as a team. I'd like to see coach Sutter get his perfect record, so that is why I am still paying attention.

I am sure the Russians will be much better prepared for the IIHF junior worlds. IMHO the US junior national team is biased towards selecting NCAA players who don't get much ice time as freshmen and only play 35 or so regular season games in any case. I can't knock the kids for wanting an education though.

I have watched 4 of the 6 games. Turris, Gagner, Giroux and Marchand (when he controls himself) have impressed me the most. Canada should have a good team for the World Juniors. Brent Sutter is 18-0 with the Juniors- AMAZING.
I expected more of Tavares. I predicted 2 weeks ago that it would be 7-1 Canada and most thought I was looney toons.
Let's not forget that this was the idea of Tretiak. Russia seems scared to pay the price physically. Special teams are dominant for Canada.

Those are things that come to mind.

At first I was really disappointed that none of the games are broadcast in the states (not even online). I'm not anymore. I'm still paying attention but now that it's proven to be a total blowout I don't regret not having been able to see the games.

I'm not a Ranger fan, but I thought one of the more interesting draft stories was Cherepanov and how he plummeted. I was looking forward to watching how he would respond. Now, I'm looking at it more as a Devs fan - how much confidence will our new coach bring to the start of the season?

Overall it's was pretty sad. I'm glad Canada is winning (I guess they already won), but I wish it was a closer contest. The way it is ... it's just pathetic.

I lost interest in it after Canada took a 4-0 series lead.

The only interest left is whether the Russians win any games.

Boy, doesn't Sam Gagner look great in this series. He may be playing with the Oil this season.

No interest at all. It is obvious that Canada is better than Russia now. I'm not surprised of the results.
