Good is in the eye of the beholder and depends on what you are trying to accomplish. They are good from an installation standpoint since they require about 4 seconds of installation time,.Just shove the spike into the soil and you are done. They are good from a quality standpoint as they work without service for quite a long time. They do not, however, compare to the wired, 24 volt systems like Malibu Lighting as far as actual light output. If your desire is pure decorative, they will be fine. If you actually want to light things up, you will want the hardwired kind.

Solar lights look pretty but don't actually give out much light, I use mine to highlight features in my garden such as my pond rather than to light any paths or seating areas as the glow is just not strong enough.

Well they glow in the dark for a few hours, depending how much sunlight they've had. They might help you find the path, but you can't use them for floodlighting.

They're quite a dull but pretty light. I like them. V romantic!

I take mine in in the Winter they work reliably in the summer. I don't expect to read by them

I have 5 up my driveway,and they work nicely as long as they are in full sun throughout most of the day.

its a pain in the neck but if I were you I would go for low voltage every time.
