Lately I have been putting my music CDs in the freezer. I don't know why I am doing this. Does this cause them any harm if I try to play them? Is it good for them?

Actually, CDs are not to be put in heat over 120 degrees or cool temperatures below 39. The alternate heating and stretching can alter your disc. But there's a whole bunch of stuff to worry about besides the freezer. Link below.

Why would you be putting them in the freezer? That's a rather odd thing to be doing if you don't know why you're doing it. I'm sure that it's probably not very good for them since freezing would mess with the coating on them & probably make them more succeptible to scratching?

have you been told this is a good practice because it will not hurt them but it is also not beneficial in and way unless you were going to put them in the oven as the alternative option
