There are so many good ones! Cinderella was definitely one of my favorites. I haven't read it in awhile, but the movie Ever After was on the other day.

My favorite was a fairly unknown fairy tale called The Blue Lake. It is in a compilation of fairy tales called The Talking Tree and Other Stories. It was pretty different, about a family that lived in a castle next door to an evil wizard. The wizard kidnaps the father... though the family has no proof and then kidnaps the daughter after the wife refuses to marry the evil wizard. The girl's brothers have to go through these trials in order to be the one who will save her... I love that book. It used to be hard to find, but I recently found a copy on eBay.

Well, according to my Dad, The Three Little Pigs played a significant role in my bedtime schedule....
but my tastes have expanded to include more mature tales like "The Juniper Tree", some Hindu legends and Greek myths.
I also had a fascination (around age 12?) with the David Bowie Film "Labyrinth"... does that count?
I remember "Bridge to Terabithia" had a HUGE impact on me as well - because it was a story that I could really relate to.

There was a story about a baby beluga whale, that I remember loving. It had a song that went with it.... "baby beluga in the deep blue sea." But that's all that I remember now. Oh, and I also loved Puff the Magic Dragon. I guess I liked stories that had songs to go with them. ;)

Wow, that's a tough one . . . probably Billy Goats Gruff, because they showed that damn troll who's the boss of that bridge. It was a macho and manly kind of fairy tale, so therefore it was cool to me as a six year old kid.
I also had to endure the unbelievably racist "Little Black Sambo" and "Seven Chinese Brothers" . . . ouch.

I guess it was always "The Three Bears." It might be that I thought Goldilocks was sort of hot, but there could be other reasons.
