I told them right away (6 weeks), but I had been telling them for a while that I was planning on getting pregnant. If you're planning on working up till birth and then going back after maternity leave, there shouldn't be a problem. Just come right out and tell them. But I could understand your apprehension if you think you might quit. dont tell them that, though!

This is my first too. I told my manager and everyone else when I was around 13 weeks (close to my 2nd trimester). I wanted to make sure everything was ok and that I wasn't at high risk for a miscarriage. I just simply said I was expecting and I was excited and I still planned on working as much as possilbe until I had to take off. I also come back to work after my appointments. They gave me all the info I needed about maternity leave and everything. You can't get fired so just go for it. Good luck and congratulations!

I told my boss when I was 3 months pregnant about 12 weeks along just like you. I was excited and let her know, and she became excited for me as the rest of the staff did too. I also work in a small office, so I didn't have to tell too many people. Actually, once you just tell one person, everyone else will know! Lol.

I am going to wait till my first appointment and make sure all is well. Since I miscarried in May at 8.5 weeks I was glad I didn't tell anyone.
Now I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and I have my appointment with my midwife in 2 weeks and when i hear a heartbeat and know all is well then I'll tell my boss.
Since you are 12 weeks along you should be able to tell now before you start to show! Also- They can't fire you for being pregnant!! Congratulations!

Well luckly my boss is really cool and I just went in one day and was like Hey I'm taking vacation in Dec ( busiest month of the year no vacation time is ever approved) and he laughed and said yeah right then I was like well I'm pregnant and due Dec 3rd. He said well I guess I don't have a choice! haha. But it's best to let them know ASAP so they can work w/ your schedule you will be having doc apointments evry month and then twice a month your last trimester then once a week your last month Not too mention if you're really sick you will be calling in. Plus most places require you to put a notice in for your maternity leave!

I am very close with my manager, supervisor, and others I work with... I told them THE DAY I found out, cause they knew I had been trying and every Monday they would say, "are we pregnant yet?" I took a test at lunch one day and then told everyone then, they were all excited and can't wait to see the ultrasound pictures.
Tell them soon, cause if your needing to pee a lot you don't want them to be like "why does she keep going to the bathroom?" and you dont want to expect more out of you than you can give right now.. like carrying more than you should and stuff like that. Good luck and CONGRATS!

I told them when I was about 6 weeks...It is also my first pregnancy. I had to tell them because I had to ask for the day off for my doc appointments...so I pretty much had no choice...dont be nervous. Maybe just start by telling your supervisor if you dont want anyone elso to know then dont say anything, although you will start showing pretty soon if you arent already. Good Luck!!...Congrats!!...

I would tell your boss soon, they like to have plenty of notice so they can find a temporary replacement or re-assign work to others while you are out.
My tip would be to be in good spirits when you tell him/her. Be very positive about it, tell them that you have "great news".
Reassure your boss that you will be coming back to work, if you are planning to.
If you are not planning to return to work, I would keep that bit of information until much closer to your delivery date, then just tell your boss that you and your husband have decided that you can afford to stay home with the baby, but that you are very grateful for the opportunity to work with him/her.
Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Well if you have a normal 28 day cycle your due date would be 11/18/2007. And you are 32 weeks pregnant. Congrats but why are you waiting this long to find out your due date? Go to the docs your gonna need your pre natals.
