i am 26 weeks pregnant and at the last appointment they said i am having a girl, but at 12, 16, 18, and 20 weeks they said they weren't sure if i was having a boy or girl. I have had a gut feeling since i found out i was pregnantthat this baby would be a boy and even had dreams where they announced it's a boy at birth. i know it's crazy but have any of you had the doctors tell you girl or boy and the baby be the other gender and you just have a gut feeling about it. i can't shake this feeling. I want to buy the baby stuff but i can't every time i pick out something girly i end up putting it back(lol) because it don't feel right. I want to buy the things i know we will need but i don't want my girl wearing blue and a boy wearing pink. LOL

I know of several women who were told that they were having a certain gendered child, but then ended having their child be the opposite gender. If it feels wrong for you to buy girl's clothes because you just really believe that you are going to have a boy, you could buy boy things and keep the reciepts and tags on everything. That way if you have a boy you have all the things you need, and if you have a girl you can take all that you bought back and exchange it for girl things.

I would buy yellow and greens at the moment if you are so bent on its not a girl - but a gut feelings means nothing I kept dreaming this baby was a boy, i even couldn't pick out a girl name till just a week ago but its a girl for sure I have an ultrasound every week cause of my diabetes and every technician has seen the same thing...
Ultrasounds are much more reliable these days and are far more reliable the farther into your pregnancy you are.
But yes they he can be wrong...try neutral colors for a starter set and maybe just set aside some money for a shopping trip after the baby is born - the sooner you get up, get moving and get back into a routine the faster you will heal and lose the baby weight so plan a shopping trip 2 weeks after babies arrival (no reason they can't live in yellow and green for a few weeks) maybe buy 1 blue and one pink outfit for pictures so that when the time comes you have that at least.
Good luck

I'd have to say that by 26 weeks they'd know what theyre looking at. The genitals are completely developed by then. I have an ultrasound picture of my son at 19 weeks, its actually a picture of JUST his penis. Theres no mistaking it.

I have heard that its more likely that you're told its a girl and its really a boy than it is to be told its a boy and find out its a girl. Especially for a late bloomer. But by 26 weeks the view is pretty darn good.
I'd say its safe to bet you're having a girl.

I know about the "gut feeling" happened to me. But that is something you can't trust. Get stuff either a boy or a girl can wear. You'll have plenty of time to get stuff for the baby once is born.

They usually can't tell before 20 weeks, so I wouldn't even consider those scans. I have known people who were told one and then had the other, but for the majority of people I know the ultrasound was correct. Especially at 26 weeks.

my sister was a "boy" until she was born and then guess what! IT"S A GIRL, moment came. go with nuetral colors for your baby, yellows, blues (a girl can wear blues), greens etc. and then when your baby is born you can go more elaberate on it! You can always buy some outfits, keep the price tag and then if theres a gender mistake go exchange them! That's what I would do. either way your baby will be beautiful, and you'll love it what ever gender it will be! thats whats important

for me, at 14 weeks, they told me my little girl had a penis.. lol.. Im going back in 2 weeks for the 20 week scan so i really hope they say its a girl. My little sister was supposed to be a boy, they told my mom the whole time it was a boy and she was actually a girl.. I know they are very accurate now though. Good luck to you!!
