He has no choice because essentially America casts his vote. He is not even asked who he wants to evict. He cannot refuse this task.
Interesting question about how a vote for Jess would affect him. The only way I can see him working it in his favor is to start talking to D&D or even Zach and possibly Jam (very last minute with her) as soon as he finds out how America voted. He would have to come up with some story about caring for Jess, but he came in to play the game and win and knows he can't beat her in the final 2. I think a surprise vote against her would hurt him more.

Yes, whomever America chooses for eviction, Eric HAS to vote that way. No exceptions. The other stuff he can do or not do if he so chooses but the eviction one he has to go with whomever America chooses. Based on Eric's behavior when he came out of the Diary Room late Tuesday night, it looks like America chose Jameka for eviction tonight. So if Dani/ED votes for Jess, the vote will be 2-1 against Jess.

I'm fairly certain that he has to vote the way that America chooses for him to vote. I don't think that the show's producers would accept anything else. I'm not too sure how voting Jess out could affect his his chances of success in the game--I know that the houseguests that are sequestered get taped episodes of the show so that they can keep up with what's going on in the game and be able to make an educated decision for their vote in the finale, but I'm not sure if CBS edits out the parts that show Eric being America's Player or not. I'd like to think that they get to see it all and that they can see that he's working very hard at staying true what America wants and not just playing the game all for himself. He's annoying and I don't particularly like him, but he's had the deck stacked against him from the start and I think that if he makes to the finale, the voting houseguests should take that into consideration.

Eric's vote is chosen for him by America. He has no say in the matter which is why when Julie calls him into the DR for him to make his vote she always says, "This is just a formality, America has already cast your vote". He can choose not to do AP tasks (or choose to do them poorly) but then he loses the opportunity to complete that task and therefore has less of a shot of getting another 5 tasks to get $10,000.

There's money in it for Eric when he fulfils America's wishes. He agreed to do his best at fulfilling them. Surprisingly, he's doing great in the game too! There's no way he'd go against America, that would be treason! lol
The sequestered hamsters don't get to see the "America's Player" parts of the show. You may have noticed in the early evictions, that Eric revealed to the evictees that "I am the twist", and explained the America's Player concept. Starting with the 1st jury eviction, Eric no longer mentioned his secret.

In the past, Eric has not voted. Whomever America chooses, is automatically who gets his vote. Eric simply goes in to chat with Julie so the other house guests do not know that he is not voting.
He can choose to try hard or not so hard on other tasks, but so far he has not done his own voting and has tried to get others to vote the same as us.

Eric has not vote, his vote is America, that is what he agree to
If America vote for Jess, then his vote for Jess
If the vote is 3-0 for Jess, or 2-1 for Jameka, he has to explain the vote
I think it will hurt him

I don't think he has to....but he gets $$ everytime he does, and when he's given America's choice of who to vote out, he always says "ok america".....so if he was told to evict Jess....he might not be so willing and Julie might not take it as a given.....
$$ is a powerful motivator......

I think his vote is actually America's vote, but he doesn't have to try to get everyone else to vote out Jess. If he doesn't complete the task he doesn't get the money.
