No. We have separation of powers. The executive is not to meddle in the afairs of the legislative branch. The Speaker is chosen by vote of the entire body of the House. Generally the Speaker comes from the majority party but doesn't have to.

No. The Speaker is elected by the members of the House. Since the Democrats have the majority of the seats in the House, the Speaker is a Democrat.
About the only thing this current Congress has been able to accomplish since taking office in January.

no...it is determined by whichever party has control of the house of representatives. The leader of the respective party is the speaker of the house. Thus since the democrats are in charge of the house, nancy pelosi is the speaker.
