I'd wait a few days to a week. If it hasn't been corrected by then you can withdraw it but you are still liable if the bank catches the error and you would have to repay it. They can't charge you for the error but be careful that the correction doesn't put your account into the negative--technically they could charge you for an overdraft when they correct the error. That is arguable and they would probably refund you for overdraft charges and correct that part of the mistake but it would take time and be costly. It can take forever to straighten out an account when these types of errors occur.
I'd leave the money in there for as long as you can before taking it out, even as tempting as it is. Just remember that there is no limit on how long they can take before they find and correct the error.

Its very possible that the bank did make an error but that doesn't mean the money belongs to you. Trust me, they will
debit your account just as soon as they become aware of it. Since you still have an account there, they will just draw you into the negative and bounce whatever debits coming into your account. Besides, if the deposit isn't yours, why don't you call the bank and let them know? I am sure that whoever made the error would greatly appreciate the help.

contact the bank immediately to let them know and if it got put into the wrong account they can pull the work and see where it should have gone instead and then make the necessary corrections. if you were to pull the money out yourself, when the bank does make the neccessary corrections you will be liable for any charges that occur due to it since it wasn't your money in the first place, if by not touching it and the correction causes any charges, since it was the banks mistake they should go ahead and reverse any charges that occured due to this situation even if they probably would have happened anyways

Even if you take the money and use it, sooner or later the bank will realize what happened when someone else comes in and is irrate that their money isn't in their account and they will correct the error and take it from your account, regardless of whether or not it is there still.

If it is an error, they will reverse it at some point and it might not be the best time when they do reverse it. If you take the money and you KNOW it's not yours..that's like stealing and like I said..it will catch up to you. Call the bank and talk to customer service.

The error will eventually be discovered and they will debit your account to correct it. You take the money and you run the chance of overdrafting your account. The best thing to do is to call or contact them with the information and let them fix it as soon as possible. Someone else has the other side of your issue and may need access to their money.

Go to the bank and bring the error to their attention, don't withdrawal any of it because when they find the mistake you will be over drawn and pay penalties more then the error was.
