In an online obituary for Luciano Pavarotti, I read where he made a debut at Covent Garden in London in 1963, where he stood in for Giuseppe Di Stefano as Rodolfo in Puccini's "La Boheme" . He was also given a role in a production of "Lucia di Lammermoor" and appeared at La Scala in Milan in 1965, San Francisco in 1967 and New York's Metropolitan Opera House in 1968 . NOW -- can I possibly pin down the month and dates when these performances took place ?
