Or it is missing a space between two words or something like that? I understand why Yahoo does not allow you to change/correct the question after it has been posted because you do not want people answering one question and then someone goes back and completely changes the question. However, doesn’t that still irk you? That is why I always try to proofread my questions before I post them, but sometimes a little mistake still slips through. Thoughts?

Yes, it's annoying because then half the answers or so say something like ''Learn English''!

You know, it really doesn't bother me at all. I don't know if that's because I *am* an English teacher and read my fair share of errors every day, or if it's because I have intentionally made "Grammar Snob" *not* be one of my personal identities. I try to give grace pretty liberally when it comes to spelling and typos.

Still, I agree with you that we should try to do our best, and that language is such a fluid thing that errors repeated often enough can become rules; however in a setting like YA--where it's more like spoken word and people are simply typing their feelings rather than planning their doctoral theses--I let it slide and enjoy the healthy heart my relaxed feelings allow me to have :) Thanks for being intelligent and encouraging others to be as well. I bet I would like you as a student :)

I've never had it happen, except once when I posted something in Hebrew, but I didn't try to go back and fix it, so I didn't realize that you couldn't make that correction.

Thanks for pointing that out. I need to cut people a little more slack with typos. Public apologies all around!

No, it does not bother me. I'm not a fanatic about anything except vacuum cleaners and gum balls!
Are you running some kind of private fascist campaign? Heavens to Mergatroid, aren't there more important things to irk you in your life?
If I ever see a spelling mistake in one of your postings, I'll forgive you, and if not, I'll give you a gold star for excellence!

LOL! I did that once, misspelled one word - deleted the question and posted it again. Even in my answers, if I catch it - I go back and correct it!
Is that being too anal?
I hate when that happens!! lol!

Other people's mistakes don't bother me at all though.

yes! I totally hate that. I proofread all of my questions too. There are times when I feel that I could have worded the question better AFTER I posted it. ugh. I'll just keep trying...goodluck on your end!

I don't think it's a big deal. There are people from all over the world on here. If I can understand what the person is asking, that's good enough for me. It's our choice whether we answer or not.

i dont care for spelling errors when reading other's people questions or answer( or even when im the one posting Q&As)...and i dont think any1 else does...i kinda look at Yahoo Answers as a pretty laid back online enviroment...i dont think it's an issue...so just type it ... read throu it once and post it...no need to copy and paste it to MS word and back just to get it perfect...no'1s judging

Yes, it does irk me when I goof up and can't fix it, or when others are trying to talk some sort of slang and it makes them seem like they are trying to sound cool or something.

As far as they typo's.....I'm fairly fluent in typonese and can usually understand what someone is saying. (or trying to say)
