My boyfriend just got his 1st job out of law school and is hosting a dinner at his condo for one of his boss (who are somewhat younger, maybe mid 30's). I know he's making some fancy salmon dish for dinner. I actually am an attorney as well so i'm going to have a very small amount of time to both get ready and/or prepare dessert. Please help...

Oh this is my favorite deserts and it is so easy and will make you look like a star! Make a fondue! All you need is cream and chocolate chips! Take a small stock pan and put water in it to boil it than take another stock pan put it on top and add the cream and chocolate chips so they will melt! IMPORTANT do not under any circumstances place the cream and chips on the heat you will have a big burnt chocolate mess! The steam from the boiling water will melt the chocolate! REMEMBER TO STIR IT A LOT it should only take about 10 minuets. Cut up pound cake, and bananas, and pine apple, get whole strawberries, marshmallows (the big ones) set up a beautiful arrangement and have every one dig in! It is a lot of fun to eat so it will not be a stuffy desert! Enjoy!

Well, if your BF is serving salmon for dinner, you could try sugar coated shark. It is safe for attorney's. Why don't sharks bite attorneys?? er, Professional courtesy??

I'm sorry, I'm just in a silly mood today. Actually, I think it would be far wiser to perhaps find a local pastry shop that has 'attractive' desserts to offer. Culinary success is always 90% presentation. Find a simple, but yet 'eye candy' type of dessert that it would be reasonable to have him think you created yourself.
Then you can always throw in the, "Oh it's nothing special, just a little something I threw together" comment. ;-))

Have fun,

Peace,

Buzzy

Ooops, almost forgot. Be sure to get rid of the 'box' it came in. ;-)))

This is definitely not a legal question.

That said, I never met a lawyer who doesn't like pie.

I suggest jello body shots. They're easy to prepare, you can offer a choice of flavors, and lawyers really like them.

And remind me again? How does this relate to law and ethics? Shouldn't you post this in the 'COOKING' section, blondie?

Very simple. Serve a good coffee and a selection of dried fruits and gourmet cookies. They can take what they want and still feel they have maintained their weight.
