I still have a life... It's backed up onto DVD-R in case of emergencies.

Hasn't affected my social life at all. This is really the only forum I use and I only come here when I have down time at work - never at home. I made a conscious decision not to get caught up because, frankly, some of the things that I see are pathetic. Secondlife.com? Seriously people? If you want to dance, go out to a club. If you want to play sports, join a league. You don't have to live a fantasy online, go live out your fantasy in the real world.

I don't have a computer at home.

Believe me, life still goes on.

Now I walk to the local library and do my emailing there.

Cheaper, and the exercise is great. Computers are too

addictive so turn it off after a specified time (1 hour a day), and

get yourself out of the house.

I never really had a social life. However when I do go out, I don't set my schedule around my computer time. If I'm home I mostly use the internet for many reasons. Research, Jazz music, masturbation, writing, etc.

I think it's because your are addicted to information. I am like that! I can't remember the last time I gone through a day without switching on the computer (excluding holidays of course). And yeah, if I don't have to go out and socialise I would plant myself in front of the computer and have my mind wonder away through the infinite websites!

my hubby used to do this and with a bit of explaining he realised how addictive it can be, he made a conscious effort to not turn the computer on as soon as he woke and did seem to get withdrawal symptoms, but he got through it and is not as bad. when something takes over your life to such an extent that you give up on life then you to cut back and start living again, it won't always be easy but needs to be done, it can be addictive but with a little bit of effort you can break the cycle, good luck and hope you get back on track soon.

My PC died on me a few weeks back now.
I had a teeny bit of withdrawal, that was until I found out I could access both Facebook and MySpace from work. :P

However, a while back, I used to be hooked to my PC. I reassessed my life though and found a happy medium through regularly socialising with close friends during the evenings all week and then using the PC to network with them at a later date.
