You may need a whole new charger. Check the rating on the black box of your charger (Sometimes integrated onto the plug). If its rated for an input of 110-240v and a frequency of 50-60Hz you can use it in England with a socket adapter. However. If its only rated for 110-120v and 60Hz you will need to visit a store in England and buy a charger rated for UK power supplies.

Seeing as you are visiting London, and I am assuming this is for a phone, there are plenty shops around that sell chargers for pretty much every make and model for under $20. Just take in the one you use in the US and they should be able to hook you up with an identical output UK model. If you are talking about some other kind of charger, like a rechargable batter unit, they can be a bit more pricy but you can find those in any Argos or Index store, just ask for directions to one.

Another thing you could do is check on Ebay for a UK power module for the device you need to power.

Some chargers come with a built in transformer. Take a look. If not, you'll need an adapter. You will also need adapters for the plugs. A set is inexpensive at luggage stores and many electronics stores.
