I have got a bajaj 125cc...it has been only two months....whenever i engage the first gear i feel a jerk...and sometimes it is more intense and the engine gets switched off even when i hold the clutch fully when engaging first gear...wats the problem and is this going to affect the mileage?

The problem is the clutch. Either needs adjustment or replacement.

Could be clutch adjustment or some bikes tend to do this when cold. Make sure you have the correct grade of oil in gearbox. If circumstances allow, let the bike roll before engaging gear and this will help prevent stalling.Check how much free play there is at clutch lever. Lever should only move a very small distance before you feel it pulling. If you have to move it far before it starts to work,then screw out cable adjuster until you achieve only a small degree of free play.

Dogbettor is right, a clutch adjustment is needed, as the clutch is not fully releasing (disengaging)

I agree its the clutch
try adjusting it at the clutch lever
