Replacing fans is slightly harder than replacing a light bulb if you get the right size fan.
Unplug the pc, take out the old fan, measure its dimensions and then get one that meets your dimensions. There are many different suppliers who stock these fans.
Because you are able to get the fan to run after you push it, it is clear that there is not a voltage supply problem so the problem is in the fan itself.

Fans are available from places such as Maplin Electronics, PC World, Currys, Comet - the list goes on. They are fairly simple to replace too - just a couple of screws and a power cable. If it has been out of sorts for some time it may be advisable to replace the PSU (fan is normally integrated in these) as it is possible that some components of the PSU have overheated and are near meltdown. PSU components are none user servicable! These are also available from all of the above.

I did this once a few years ago and as I remember it was quite easy, you should be able to buy a replacement fan from most PC shops, PC World etc. They are just attached by a couple of screws and a short wire to the motherboard. Just be careful to ensure you work in a clean static free area when you open up the machine.

1.Get a hover
2. Take off the end so your left with just the pipe
3. Place hoover end close to centre of fan
4. Turn on hoover..
Usually if its -not- an electrical fault it maybe because dust has got into the ball bearing housing. If this fails buy a replacement fan.
Hope this helps.

its easy, buy a new one , open your pc , unscrew the old one and install it , should plug straight into the motherboard, but chekc the power rating as your PC power supply will only support a certain wattage usage and some fans take more power than others... best to get a silent fan if you are replacing it.

Fans are inexpensive at places like http://www.tigerdirect.com
Replace it yourself. It's very easy.
For temporary fixing, get a syringe, fill it with light oil, then puncture the little rubber seal and squirt a bit of oil on the bearing.
