Honestly here you get a lot of opinions. VBAC.com has a lot of facts, statistics and personal stories. The risks are exceptionally low in 90 something percent of cases if there are no other issues. It's a very informative friendly site. There are generally more risks in repeat surgery.

chances are higher that you will need a repeat c-section because of a history of one and it use to be that if you had 1 c-section you always had to have 1 but now they are encouraging more woman to try vaginal if they have only had 1 or 2 c-sections. I think risks increase though with each c-section. The scar tissue would put you in a higher risk catagory and they will have to have you in a room prepared for possible c-section but you can try vaginal if you want. There are woman that deliver a second child vaginally without complications.

I had a c-section and they told me it would be best if I waited 18 months before getting pregnant if I wanted a vaginal birth but I think it depends on the doctor. If your doctors feel confident you can deliver vaginally without complications like rupture of the scar tissue then you should be fine.
But, it sounds like your doctor is leaning toward another c-section, which is probably the safer option. It's all about having a healthy, safe delivery ,right?

My first baby was by emergency C section and wasnt at all what I had planned but then I had a VBAC with my second baby and it was the best experience of my life. My doctor was very kind and very competent. We--me, my husband and my doctor-- went through all the risks and had the NICU and surgical teams on standby in case any of those risks came true. I did fine and it was wonderful. I would never have done it if I didn't have an excellent relationship with my OBGYN who knew and understood completely my feelings and at what pioint to stop and do the C section etc etc. He was terrific and so was his staff. I would not attempt it if I wasn't at a bigger health care facility where they have all the services you would need including surgical stand-by teams and an in-house blood bank. I think one of the biggest factors for me was that I only gained 18 pounds for that pregnancy so I didn't have a lot of stress to the tissues before I tried the delivery plus the epidural for pain relief is a God-send!!

vbac's ( vaginal birth after ceseran) are very common place now, especially since doctors began making horizontal incisions instead of verticle incisions for most c-sections. since you got pregnant so quickly there is a chance your scar could rupture again with the stress of a vaginal birth. if your doctor feels you are able to atempt a vaginal birth i would try it if it's something you would like to do. the doctors may have you already prepped for a c-section and in an operating room just incase they felt your previous incision was not going to hold up, they would be ready to take any actions needed to keep you safe....be sure and discuss the possibilites with your doctor see what their opinion is, and if they give you the go ahead on trying for a vbac, i would say go for it if you feel comfortable.

Most doctors would prefer to do a C Section again especially because of how quickly you got pregnant again.
But I dont know if you HAVE to do a repeat C. Many women have Vbacs very successfully.
There are risks of rupture of the old scar tissue, but the chances are slim. Most doctors would have you wait one year before getting pregnant again after a C, maybe thats why he wants you to have another CS?

A VBAC can be performed if all the conditions are right, but there is still risk. It sounds like you may want to go for the C-section, especially if that is what the doc is recommending. You could tear from where you previous scar was because of the pushing. Normally I would say go for it, but since it has been only shortly over a year since you last C, I would err on the side of caution.

You can, but it is not as likely. If your try for a vaginal birth you migth risk a tear of your old incision I believe. I wouldn't risk it if I were you. Especially with your pregnancy being so close to the other one. You haven't really had enough time to heal from the last one.

i could actual prefer a vaginal beginning, basically bc it extremely is how infants have been meant to be born, and likewise bc the restoration from a vaginal is plenty speedier often than a c-section, additionally bc if i had to have a vaginal beginning, and already had a c-section with my 1st, my probabilities of uterine rupture for the period of hard paintings strengthen and that i don't choose that greater hazard. as for medical doctors allowing women human beings to flow with, the hmo i pass to could not at all enable this except you already had a prior c-section. yet sure i agree the alternative could desire to be ours, as long as have been finished term. i additionally think of being triggered could desire to be our decision top now. i'm dealing with this concern top now: i'm 0 cm dilated basically 20 % effaced infant hasn't dropped yet and that i'm a million day previous my due date! and that i'm unable to be triggered til July 11th on the earliest. i could easily like this decision. i'm 40 weeks medically there is not any reason they cant, yet oh properly. the alternative could desire to be ours. having an abortion is a horrid element to do mutually as having a c-section or triggered hard paintings are actually not, yet yet medical doctors act like it shouldnt be our decision.

I have also heard that. My sister n law had all 3 of her children by c-section. My aunt had her first vaginally and second c-section. Maybe you can't have the next one vaginally. If I could get a hold of my aunt in Michigan she would know. She works in that department. Sorry I did not have much help.
