I lost my cell phone and need to buy a new phone, my plan is with Verizon and they say I have to pay full retail to get a replacement phone from them. The Verizon rep recommended that I buy a phone with no plan off eBay.

I was looking at the phones with no plan on the motorola web site, there are many options what do I need for a Verizon compatible phone?

Also, is there a guide to the various designations at the end of the Razer models - V3C, V3, V3i, V3M, V3R, V3T, V3xx - what do all those mean?

You need a CDMA phone, GSM/TDMA will not work. US Cellular, Cricket, Alltel, and some others should work. If you get one of those Verizon will have to put their PRL(Preferred Roaming List) and set up the NAM CID. But they will work. I've used some Alltel and Verizon phones on my providers network after flashing them.
As with the V3c, V3m etc etc. The V3c doesn't have a micro sd card slot, the V3m does, I don't know about the other V3X's. Hope this helps..

I have Verizon and I use the ENV2 and love it. It has the full keyboard, micro SD card, MP3 player, front keypad. I did get one for my daughter, she loves hers BUT the front keypad is dying, some keys don't work. She can still use all the keys on the internal kbd. She is rather harsh on phones, her Chocolate II only lasted about6 months. One thing if you get the env2 and are texting: first key to push is the new line key, next to the L key. There is no fast way to get to the end of a line other than pushing right key over and over. At least if you do that trick you can press down then left to get to the end of the previous line. I have been looking for the "end" key and that's all I could come up with. Other con is the camera has no flash. Otherwise great phone!

if Motorola has an ESN number you are golden with VZ.
Now, every two years at Vz you get a $100 credit to the purchase of a new phone. Where are you at on this . retail people stink they want commis. Call the Customer Service people. If your date is close to the new for two plan, ask them to move it up for you. I am ex Vz and it was done all the time at my work site.
