that is funny i also have a neighbor who was a mail order bride but they are very happily married and have been for humm like 6 years or so very cute couple i think if that is what they want then fine but i could NEVER do that your relationship is based on attraction because that's all you know the bride from (a picture)

I see people don't believe you, but I've seen this too. Seriously.
This guy was average or a little below average looking and had this gorgeous young wife from some russian country. I guess to them it's not that big of a deal since they'd probably have to marry someone they didn't like over there anyway, but at least here, they're cared for and live in a free-ish country.
As to what I think about it, I don't like it. I like love and solid relationships. A mail order bride is more like slavery in my book.

I think that he can't handle the girls made in the good old USA because we are very independent and won't be his maid or whatever it is he is looking for and if he is going around bragging about his sex life then he is VERY immature anyway,and the bride probably is just happy to have gotten out of Russia and could really care less about him! So that's what I think I think It is sad.

I know someone who did this, too. It sounds like a load of crap, but it's really not. People actually do this kind of thing. I think it's nuts myself. How can you order someone to love through the mail? It's crazy! But I guess it's not much different from arranged marriages. I just try to not be so narrow minded and just realize that my way of life is not necessarily everyone else's way of life. To each his own, you know?

I think it's a bad idea for both sides.
The man doesn't know if the woman that comes will leave him once she gets to the US and gets all the rights that come with being in the US.
And the bride doesn't know what she's getting either. He could be horrible and fat and gross.
