If your husband meant that you know the NEW price of the product, than he is correct. You're looking at different sides of an answer here. Percents and fractions change on other sides of an equation.
25%+25%+25%+25%=125% or
1/4+1/4+1/4+1/4+1/4+=5/4
both have five pieces so
one piece is equal to 20% or 1/5
Maybe the fractions will help it make more sense.

Well here it is 6 minutes and no smart answers.
Theory of 5 is incorrect.
$100.00
X25%=$25.00

$100.00/5=$20.00
My thinking 25% is 1/4
/5=20% or 1/5
So if you divide by 4 you will get the 25%

The new 100% is 125 units.
Divide by one fifth (20%) to find the mark up.
