It could be an example of astral projection or bi-location?

What your husband saw was just a repeat of himself standing before a mirror. It means nothing, however strange it may seem.

If a person wishes to see themselves in the next life, find a still pool and gaze down upon the image reflected in the water. Place a votive offering to the God of the river most carefully in the water.

The best votive offering to the God of the River Thames can be seen at the British Museum - it is called "The Battersea Shield". It was made specially for the River God and never used in battle. It was place in the Thames at Battersea by a great British Chieftain, possibly to thank the God for saving his son from drowning therein. We will never know why!

It could be a few things, just a bad dream, an OBE, astral travel or projection, or as I suspect a time anomaly...
Some people believe that time is 3 dimensional, past, present and future all happening at once...
So just for a second or two time was out of phase, it could have been a glimpse of himself in either the past or the future, and that can even mean a matter of minutes or hours as opposed to years...

There could be a few explainations for this- first, he may have still been in a dream state when it happened- second, he may have accidently astal-projected and then witnessed it- third , he may have seen his doppleganger. If the third is the case, the doppleganger may have been there to warn him of an impending disaster and he should be extra cautious throughout the day. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it to much as the first explaination is the most likely.

He had been Astral Travelling and was returning to his physical body

Your Spirit which is a "Soul the Etheric body" that we use to Astral Travel so when we pass over that is what leaves the body. It is understood as a sort of life force body or aura that constitutes the "blueprint" of the physical body, and which sustains the physical body.

If he was looking down at his body in bed then this would mean that he had temporarilly left his body (astral projection) but i'm not sure what it means if the physical body sees the astral body, but he should try to develop it.
