or will the police keep them seperated until both have been interviewed, what iam trying to say is, whats the point of interviewing Kate then letting her return to Gerry to let him know what was said/asked at the interview, surely this is the reason the police are interviewing them apart...so what iam asking is will they be kept apart until both have been interviewed.

Only people under arrest can forcibly be kept separated for the purpose of interviews, if the McCann's are not in custody then they have the most control over when they're interviewed.

P.S. the McCann's can get their stories synchronized all they want, but if police have hard evidence to the contrary then that's what really counts. There's plenty of people behind bars that HAD their stories "together", only to have it dismantled by contradictory evidence.

I find this very odd, the interviews are being staged in light of the results from the tests on the spots of blood found in the apartment. I think Kate will be asked to account for the time between the last visit made to the apartment, the movements of the dinner party guests and the time she went and discovered the baby missing. The last person to go and check and actually saw all three babes was, i believe, Mr McCann, the trip after was made by one of the friends, who I believe has stated that they listened at the door and upon hearing no sounds went back to the dining table. Gerry will then be asked presumably the same and then I believe will emerge further interviewing of certain of the guests, one in particular who claims to have seen a man hurrying off with a child in his arms.

They will be kept apart until Gerry has been interviewed and although some people have said that they have had 4 months to get their stories straight these detectives are experts in the art of interviewing and they will get the truth out of Kate in her moment of weakness. gerry never let her say much in all the previous press interviews ,probably because he didn't want her to say something she shouldn't. Well now she is on her own.

This is what I'm wondering. There doesn't seem to be much point in separate interviews if Kate can go home and tell Gerry all about it.

On the other hand, the Portuguese police obviously have different methods so there maybe nothing sinister in it.

If they are kept apart I think that would mean they are
being interviewed as suspects and not witnesses. This
could take a nasty turn.
Perhaps the questioning or the lines of questioning was not
carried out as it should have been in the first place.
Personally, I think the police are clutching at straws.
They'll be blaming the maids next.

I truly believe they will be kept apart until they are both interviewed, seems funny Kate feels she needs a lawyer if they are claiming they are being questioned as witnesses. My gut tells me they are guility of not just leaving the kids alone. any parent who's child disappeared and has been missing as long as maddy would have shown a hell of alot more emotion then them something is not right i just hope this is not another jonbennet ramsey case.

good point it would be pretty pointless to let them see each other but io have another theory think they want to interview kate first because they think she will crack easier then gerry and they are hoping that she will crack and give something away about the truth of what happened that night and then when she sees gerry if she is alloud she will be to scared to tell that she cracked under pressure and fessed up

yes this is a part I don't understand. They are interviewing Kate today but Gerry tomorrow ....what is the point of it being separate if Kate can just go back to Gerry and tell him everything that happened!?

DISCLAIMER: I am not saying that the above mentioned names are innocent or guilty!

I can't see that it will make much difference at this late stage. They have been together since the day Maddie went missing, so they have had plenty of time to talk to each other about the events of that evening.
