I gave some bath confetti I received from an ex friend to someone I didn't really like (But they gave me a present first).
I never got busted.

I have a box of gifts that were given to me, but not my taste. So, I use put little post it notes on each thing to keep it sorted out and that I would not get busted. My oldest son when he was little mixed up all the tags on me one time. And I gave something back to a coworker. I covered by saying that I thought she would enjoy one as well.....I suspect she knew it was the same one. She knew how hard being a single Mom could be...so she never said a word. Now, I use masking tape.

Yep, in fact I'm doing it today. We actually have re-gifting parties after Christmas when everyone brings a gift that they hated and we swap. I got the BEST bottle of scotch one year at a re-gifting party.

Only once. I gave my little brother an electronic dartboard that my mother in law gave me for Xmas. Now, usually I don't "re -gift", but the previous Xmas, my mother in law had gotten me the exact same dartboard, and what am I gonna do with two?

Nope, not a re-gifter. I sent a friend of mine a huge basket of See's chocolates and saw it at a mutual friends house the next week. She confirmed where she had gotten it. I was pissed and would have never spent over $100 on it had that person not been a chocoholic. I never gave them another thing, it reallllllly made me angry.

Yes, and the term you are looking for is "re-gift" thanks to Seinfeld. I re-gifted a Chili's gift card this past Christmas. No, I didn't get busted.

YUP . I re-gift those gift which i don't like because usually they are from those people who don't know my likes and disliikes and gift me for a formality...... so why keep them??? but those who gift me things out of love, whatever they gift me i love it !! so i don't want to give to anybody else!!!!!!

Yep, I got this little snowman statue at a banquet one year, and I gave it as a gift at the same banquet the next year.

My friend once gave a gift back the next year to the same person.LOL
I pissed my pants when she told me she realized it was too late.The friend made a little comment to.lol

Not really but I gifted a watch to my brother which my office gave me for my performace, I told him the turth he didn't mind the watch cost a lot. lol
