If you just want a reliable and stable motherboard, then get the Original Intel motherboard.
If you want an EXCITING motherboard that you could tweak to your heart's content so you could squeeze out every bit of performance from the entire PC set up, then get an ASUS, Gigabyte, DFI or Abit motherboard that has an Intel chipset (P-35, G-33, 965P, etc.).

I would personally recommend you to go for Intel Original Motherboard. The advantages are:
1> Front Side Bus (FSB) Speed
2> Support for High Speed Memory
3> Overall Performance of this is 80% faster than Chipset one
4> More PCI Slots for additional Cards

Chipsets are better in terms of Cost but they do not prove full functinality based on the above one and you will be annoyed if your system runs slower even though u have 1GB RAM etc. The main reason of this is coz of slower FSB.

Hope this helps!
