From my experiences I've noticed that people who are against Political Correctness, are upset because it's no longer socially acceptable to tell racist/sexist/religious jokes anymore. Anyone else notice the same thing?

Yep. What used to be referred to as manners or civility is now "politically correct." In other words, it would be okay to be discivil or ill-mannered, except that it is politically inexpedient. It's a cheap way of trying to be rude and have it allowed.

No, I think that political correctness is blown totally out of proportion and tends to ignore the true problems. I base this on the change in terminology over the years, i.e. the "Afro American" community used to say "I'm not colored, I'm black!" now "black" is a "bad" term and "Afro American" is the correct term. I'm guessing that in 10 to 20 years "Afro American" may be on it's way out as non-correct and fairly certain that "colored" used to be more correct than other terms that had become derogatory.

The point behind pc is to be respectful and the words you use are merely a reflection of respect or your lack of it.

of direction. I ***** approximately political correctness through fact i don't prefer to stay in a international (or society) that doesn't enable for growth and adaptability. Others have subject concerns with substitute and stance, and that they are those whom are continuously attack the status quo.

Yeah - I used to notice it more on another site where people seemed to be happier to be racist and homophobic and similar but not actually think about respecting people and using offensive language/terms
