If it was in Blacksburg, maybe.

East Carolina is a perennially overlooked and underrated team. I think all the hoopla last week actually hurt the hokies.

But at LSU, the tigers win by almost 10.

It's so hard to speculate so early in the season after seeing LSU play the Mighty Mississippi State. I've been saying LSU has as good a chance as anyone to make it to the national championship game this year and I'm sticking to it. I'm hesitant to make a prediction about the game, since I think we'll see more of the true 2007 LSU team Saturday against the Hokies, but the prediction I have made before is LSU by 17 in a low scoring game (i.e. 17-0 or 20-3). Ducette will score one of the TD's. He's a weapon and will play well despite VT's great defense.

I don't know much about VA Tech, but I do know that LSU doesn't have the offense to be a top 5 team. The tigers will not be able to score enough points to go undefeated this year. If nobody else beats them, I'm sure that the Razorbacks will. The hogs will probably already have clinched the SEC west by then and will be playing for a national championship shot. I can think of 5 or 6 teams in the SEC that would have a legitimate shot to beat LSU. No way they make it past all of them.

I am an LSU fan and I believe the Tigers may be a bit over-rated but I also feel the same way about Virginia Tech. Since Virginia Tech is playing in Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night I give a big advantage to LSU. Also, LSU's defense is for real and it is going to be tough for Virginia Tech to get their offense rolling.

I know I won't get your best answer for this because you sound like a brainwashed Cajun, but someone needs to set you straight. I'm am going with VT to win in a close game and here is why. LSU is a good team and expects people to fear them and not play good against them. LSU believes they are invincible and that is a serious mistake, because anyone can be beaten on any given day, just ask Michigan. (LSU will lose at least 2 games this year). VT just came off an emotional win, and should be much more settled down now. I look for VT to hit LSU hard and early and get LSU on their heels. Score: somewhere around 21-17 VT.

Neither team has much of an offense (don't let the 45 LSU scored against Mississippi State fool you; the Bulldogs are awful and coughed the ball up 6 times on picks) but great defenses. VPI struggled against East Carolina, but they're were a number of intangibles there that won't be present this week.

LSU wins at home, but by a TD or less.

Va. Tech. looked very flat for most of the game aginst E. Carolina, and if it had not have been for some very questionable calls aginst ECU they very well could have lost that game at home. I don't believe they were going to be allowed to lose that game however. If they play at the same level this week it will be LSU in a route. GO HEELS,,,,,,,,, Oh wait,,, it's not basketball season yet.

The Hokies didn't do anything special last week against a much weaker team that LSU. That isn't a good sign.

After having gone to VT, I am a Hokies fan, but I am afraid this week is going to be a chokies week. :(

Hopefully they will bounce back well, and get back into the elite mix and finish with just the one loss.

LSU will win in a close one. Both teams have great defenses, but LSU has a better offense.

my guess is LSU 13 VT 12,,,, defensive battle, VT will score on defense or on Special Teams,,,, LSU will hold that VT offense but think that LSU will score on Defense or at least move the ball enough to score somewhat on VT,,,, not a high scoring game as both teams have very good defenses and are very athletic on that side of the ball,,,, both offenses are sketchy
