Hi ya

Chart reading takes a lot of research and study because every person's chart is unique. I am by no means an expert (not even close!!) I've merely been fascinated by it since I was very young (and now I'm not so young LOL).

The outer circle which shows the signs of the zodiac shows you what house (each of the 12 sections is considered a house) each sign 'rules' in your chart. Then you look at what planet is in that house to figure out the impact it has. If there is a small "r" beside any planet symbol it means the planet was in retrograde (meaning it appears to be obiting backwards through the zodiac) Planets retrograde from time to time and then 'go direct' (move forward) again.

This website lists all the symbols/glyphs used in your chart. Which will make it easier to figure things out. I'd suggest you print out both your chart and this list and then you can write out a list (or write on your chart) the planet names, etc. so it will be easier to look up other info.

AC = Your Ascendent which is also known as your rising sign. It tends to represent behavior traits.

DC = Your Descendent and is an indication of the type of people you attract to you

MC = your Midheaven point which tends to indicate what direction your life is likely to head in.

IC = Imum Coeli also known as Nadir. It's the lowest point on your chart and is an indication of your birth & early life.

A fabulous online resource for astrology is:

Go through the whole site ~ he breaks down chart info into very easy to find and easy to read sections.

Have fun with it! :o )

If you were to think of your Sun sign as your soul -- your inner personality and potential -- and your Moon sign as your heart -- your emotional core -- then you could say that your "Rising sign or called Ascendant" is your physical self or the face you present to the world.

That is all you need to know the basics until you get a better understanding

The smaller grid is split into 2 sections. Going downwards it is the climate (hearth, air, earth and water) additionally general by way of fact the triplicities. And around the grid are the volumes -Cardinal, fixed, and Mutable.
