Oh dear,it sounds like you have waited too long before comin here. Best thing now would be to start from scratch. If you have a router/modem that is if the phone line plus straight into the router then do a reset, usually by pushing a pin into a small hole on the back for 5-10 seconds and re-install that first with a cable connection. When you setup the wireless security in the router write down the WEP or WPA key you enter or are given. Make sure the key has no O or 0 and no 1 or l to avoid confusion later. Now setup the wireless on your computer it should discover the wireless network and ask you for the key you just wrote down. Now it should all work fine.

This problem can be caused from a number of different places. To narrow it down, if you have other computers that do not report that message, then it is a problem with that computer wireless card, or wireless key. I would double check to make sure the wireless key is correct. If all of your devices that run off of wireless do not work, then I would narrow it down to the wireless router/access point, but if no computers work, then it is the DHCP server on your main router.

You may have a configuration problem. Is this wired or wireless? Try the "fire drill":
1) power down the cable/dsl modem, power it back up, and let the lights settle.
2) Power down your router and power it back up.
3) Reboot your PC.
This process renews all the DHCP leases, which can cause similar problems.

Reboot your router by unplugging it for 2-3 minutes and the plug it back in. If you don't get connection then, something is wrong with your router.
Make sure the connections to the modem are correct, reset the router back to factory defaults and try it again. If its still doesn't work, take it back and get it replaced.

Most likely, there is no signal or your network is having some problems. Try it once in a while if there's progress. If not, you should ask about it from where you got your router.
Hope it helps.
