Witchcraft = The Craft of the Wise, and it has been around since the very dawn of time itself....
Alchemy would take a life-time and a half to even comprehend a fraction of its power....
None of them are a load of bunk, I can assure you of that...

I like Milly's answer. But I would like to add that witchcraft does not and can not in of itself make a persons life better. That is entirely up to the practitioner. I am not wealthy or powerful and I do not make any pretense as does Ravenwolf. However, I am very satisfied with my life and the path I am on. I have no needs that have not been met, some with the aid of witchcraft. Nature has blessed me with some artistic talent and it does help supplement my income. I am a witch and live by the rede "do as thou wilt an in it harm none" to the best of my ability. It is simple to do if you equate it to the Christian "do unto others as you would have done to you.
Alchemy is another matter. Chemical compounds are developed and utilized every day, but if you are looking to turn lead into gold.....no,

Alchemy was developed right along side modern science. Many famous scientists of the Enlightenment were also alchemists. However, they found that alchemy never performed quite up to snuff, so it went by the wayside.
There ARE accounts and evidence to suggest that some alchemists really were able to make "gold" out of other metals... as long as we define gold as a soft yellow metal. Some alchemists were able to produce alloys that appeared to be gold (we still aren't sure exactly what some of those alloys actually contain).

No it can't be real, I mean think about it. You can't change the laws of physics. And alchemy, I believe, was once thought to be science. It was something to do with changing lead into gold. I think it was thought do-able because these 2 metals are right next to each other on the periodic table and only 1 ion or neutron or something like that apart. Also alchemy was also a withcraft lore they thought they could change anything into gold.

Christians are against Alchemy and Witchcraft and Sorcery for many motives, however the main important one is they suspect the only individual who could have powers is God and/or Jesus. it is extraordinarily lots why they do in comparison to technology, yet once you fairly think of roughly it Praying or going to church is a style of witchcraft and cult in a fashion. additionally people who 'worship' Satin do no longer worship him by way of fact he's Evil, they suspect that Jesus enable devil decrease back into heaven and gave him all his powers so he ought to hold the burden...

I am a practicing witch, and I can see and feel the result of my spells, so I don't doubt witchcraft. Alchemy is not something I've ever explored, so I can't comment on that.

Alchemy is kind of silly in the face of modern chemistry
but witchcraft is no sillier than prayer, both are an attempt to
change reality by invoking a higher power.

No it's not surreal. It is very real, and a very dangerous thing to be getting into.
Unfortunately people prefer to say it is a load of rubbish, because they are either in it themselves, or electing to ignore it out of fear or just plain ignorance.
There are so many books and sites which will explain the dangers to you.
When I first came actually face to face with the reality of it, I was, as they say in Liverpool (UK) "gobsmacked" And I had been a Christian for many years. You could have knocked me down with a feather!

A Witch is someone who practices witchcraft to help better the world and mankind. A witch is NOT someone who is ugly, worships the devil, or hurts people. Witch is a name given to someone who works with magical powers and natural substances and uses them to help and heal. Magic can be used for both good and evil, but is generally used solely for the good.
Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it.
Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held.
Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books.
Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin.
Believe nothing just because someone else believes it.
Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true
Nothing in life is to be feared, It is only to be understood.
