Not being a stranger to the whole restraint thing, I can tell you that you have to have a lot of trust in your boyfriend. You can't have any questions as to whether or not he will stop when you tell him to. That said- and this might sound goofy, but you need to come up with a code word. Sometimes during bondage games things get really intense, and if you say "stop" he may think that you are just playing into the role of the submissive. If you have a code word there will be no questions as to what you mean. Moving on; some people are just not the submissive types. They can't get comfortable. They don't like being at the mercy of someone else, etc, etc. If you are willing to try it however I would suggest that you not start with handcuffs- especially if you've never done it before. Start with some thing that you could get out of a little easier; scarves for example. Work your way up. This will help you to become more comfortable with the idea of being restrained, as well as showing your boyfriend that you might not be overly fond of the idea, but you're willing to try.
