Hi, yeah Windows 2000 can see alot more than 80GB of harddisk space since it uses NTFS, u could put a 400GB harddisk and still use Windows 2000. I suggest u reinstall the operating system by booting from the cd. Delete all partitions and create new ones according to ur requirements. If the total of all availible disk space is still 40GB then it means that either ur harddisk is bad or u really do have an only 40GB harddisk.
Good Luck!

I have 10 computers running W2k Pro and they all have a 100gb and a 60gb hd in them. I have not problems. Do you have the 40gb on a hidden partition?
