Taking your own life is not something to take lightly... so I would have to say that under extreme circumstances and to save a member or members of my family then yes. But to save a strangers life I would doubt it but can't give you an honest until the day I'm put in that position.

I'm surprised that there aren't any, if not more, military members answering this question...oh wait...maybe that's because they actually have enough balls to put their lives on the line for a strangers. They don't need to talk about because they are actually doing it. And I'm not talking only the ones that are in Iraq...I'm also talking about National Guard....volunteering for charities or other organizations. SO many of you say that you want to help out or that you would...yet I doubt any of you are actually helping out...and if some of you are than I stand corrected.

People like to say that they are going to do something....but very few of them will actually do what they say.

Those of you who are answering "Yeah I would for a family member..." I completely understand that! I would rather die than have my husband or other family member die. As far as strangers go, yes. I want to join the military...but currently my husband is enlisted and I may be pregnant. Hopefully in the future though.

Depends on the situation.

In an emergency situation [eg car crash, flooding etc) if saving me means putting other's lives in unrealistic risk then maybe. If I was seriously injured & wouldn't belikely to survive then yes.

If saving me meant putting my daughter or close friends at risk then naturally.

I would risk my life to save a loved one.

I would do it for a stranger too.

(..unless they jumped off a bridge into freezing cold water that
was rushing by at about 50 mph.)
Just being honest.

Depends upon the situation. I love my life and my husband and two children rely upon me. So, unless you give me a particular situation, then no. Not at this point.

Definately not. Sorry but I wouldnt. I do not have kids yet so idk if I would when I do have them. I know if they were still babies and they would be alive for many years to come then yes I would but other then that no. Sorry to disappoint you. If it came to going to war I would fight for my country and die for my fellow soldier but I would not take my own life for his/hers its just not going to happen. When it is my time to die then I will die and Im not the one to determine when that will happen.
