For future gaming, the Core 2 Quad without a doubt. As another poster here said a while back, you can always overclock the Quad to E6750/6850 speeds, but you can't make the 6750/6850 grow more cores.

According to the intel price list
E6750 costs $180
Q6600 costs $270
$90 is well worth spending on the Q6600. And the quad Core is either well ahead of the E6750 or slightly better in certain applications and games. So you are not going to lose anything.If they bring out games that use the multi cores, you will not regret having those extra two cores.

E6750 is better but E6850 is best for that P-35 motherboard. A 550W power supply with strong dual +12V rails (at least 15 amps per rail) would be more than enough. 8800GTS (320mb) draws only up to 9amps. E6750 draws only up to 5.5 amps on the +12V rail.
