I am trying to figure out what is wrong with my computer, when i turn on my desktop everything sounds like it is starting up correcly but nothing is showing on my moniter, i have checked with someone elses moniter and it still does not show up there, i am just trying to figure out if there is a way to narrow it down to either motherboard problem or my video card ( which is my best guess) but i want to be sure before i buy another one.

Thank you!

Try resetting CMOS. Unplug PC. Move CMOS jumper to reset position for 30 seconds, then place back to normal position. OR remove CMOS battery for 30 seconds also.
If still no display, try booting without RAM. You should hear the endless beep. If no beeps, motherboard could be dead and NOT the video card.

Unfortunately, the only way to narrow it down is to put another known good video card in place of your current card, or put your video card into another working system.
