I'm not depressed I just feel very edgy, lose my temper easily and overreact to things. Please don't tell me to go for counselling!

I'm taking 5htp at night plus Valerian and Rhodiola Rosea each morning.

I need something to help me mellow out!

I don't do prescription drugs because of the side effects.

Please don't suggest hard drugs.

I'd suggest you try this site: http://www.bachremedies.co.uk/ They're a very reputable floral remedy manufacturer, and they have a neat little questionnaire that asks questions about your problems so you can figure out exactly what will benefit you.

Oh, and I know it's not a herb, but have you tried yoga or tai chi? Some form of relaxation exercise can help to release some of the frustration and put you in better control of your emotions. And they feel nice :)

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/gJvLV
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.

There are a number of traditional Chinese formulas / accupuncture that can help if you have access to a doc who practices Chinese medicines.

One possible cause can be too much heat in the system (i.e. Ayurvedic or Chinese medicine could say that). Do you get hot or flush easily? Avoid alcohol, spicy foods, foods that are hard to digest.
