I wish that I know what is the best solution, all I know that I agree with this statement:
“There is no problem of Kosovo, because the question of Kosovo and its status was resolved long before the conflict in Kosovo, long before the relevant United Nations (UN) Security Council resolution. Kosovo is an inalienable part of Serbia according to all international charters, documents and legal resolutions” - Bishop Artemije
When prime minister of Canada say that Quebec cannot separate unilaterally from Canada, and that it is a matter that concern all citizens of Canada, not just Quebec, I see the same analogy here. As a cradle of Serbian civilization, it's clear that it is Serbian land. Now let's see some of albanian arguments:
- Albanians are majority on Kosovo today - they make more than 90% of population : it's due to record population growth rate, among other things. Does that give to them exclusive right to make their own country? There are other similar examples in the world too, what does that mean?
- position of Albanians from Kosovo in SFRY: "Kosovo had its political autonomy from 1974 to 1989, with its schools (including universities), provincial government, and the state-run media all in Albanian language - certainly much more than any other ethnic minority had anywhere else in Europe - and yet that was not enough. In 1980 riots broke out all over Kosovo with the slogan "Kosovo Republika," demanding a status equal to that of other Yugoslav republics, with a final goal of secession". I repeat Serbia gave autonomy for Kosovo within it's territory.
- "democracy" in albanian way: no negotiations. Seccesion is their only way, and they are not ready to accept any kind of autonomy. The million dollar question is: how Albanians are so powerful to negotiate from such demanding position?
- "Albanians are descendants of Iliryians, therefore, have more right on territory": Albanians weren't aware that they are Ilyrians till recent times, when that all of the sudden come to their minds. Albanian prehistory definitely goes back to the 11th century when they are mentioned for the first time; up to the 13th century, they do not represent a sufficiently clear historical entity, being nomadic shepherds, highlanders far from the sea, small in number and with an ethnically vague identity. On the other hand, Kosovo has been a Serbian land
since the migrations of the 7th century. "Claiming historical, and especially territorial, rights on the ethnic map of pre-migration Europe simply are impossible today, for in this period there was no France and no Frenchmen, no Germany and no Germans, no Russia and no Russians, no Serbia and no Albania".
Albanian ethnogenesis is very questionable, so all kinds of experts today on YA will try with their own "expertise".
So why do we have "Kosovo problem"? Because Albanians had too much rights as minority in ex Yugoslavia?
When thinking about solution, the only thing that comes to my mind is position of Serbs today on Kosovo and Metohija and how that terrible position would be even worse if Albanians gain independence. Serbs on Kosovo today live in terrible conditions, uncompareble with conditions that Albanians had. Today is very dangerous even to speak serbian there, so you can get the picture.
To be clear I don't want to deny rights of any minority. But minority that becomes majority and claims in force independence of other's territory and don't want to negotiate doesn't leave any space for democratic solution.
So thank you for your kind words, we indeed need some miracle from St. Sava. Kosovo may become presedence and it seems that the big players had already decided about that. I

I strongly believe that the best and fair solution is as Angelos said above. But, the I am afraid that things will not go so good as WE WANT and believe for Serbs.
The worst but more possible solution is the Kosovo's Independence. (Ahtisaari plan). The dangerus point is the reassessment of the borders (in this point Serbs need our help).

Kosovo has been for centuries the crudle of the Serbian nation, its cultural birth place, and both history and remaining monuments testify this.
Albanian practice is to immigrate to another country or territory, get hold of property, multiply themselves, and then ask for minority rights and autonomy.
Albanians have the support of USA and Co, since they are to be used for the promotion of the american interests against Russia.
Let's not forget that in Kosovo, under the eyes of the United Nations, Serbian Monasteries and Churches have been damaged or destroyed and Serbian nuns raped.
Serbians are leaving their motherland for Albanians to expand allover.
So, after Kosovo, the time of FYROM will come, not to say that if Greece does not wake up, in a few years the Albanian immigrants will rise stronger minority claims here too.
Therefore Kosovo must remain Serbian, and Albanians must go back to their country of origin, which now is empty, as almost all of them have immigrated to Greece, Italy, and the rest of Europe.
