There may be a higher level of enjoyment attainable than that which is presently known. If you could unravel the complexity of life, you might be able to find it.
People may also derive pleasure in their own "pondering" -- their own pursuit of the answers. That may be better and more fulfilling to some people than many other activities.
Just like a riddle. Knowing the answer to a riddle beforehand isn't as fun as solving it yourself.

Because understanding life in every sense of the word is what we humans do. If you prefer, it is why we are here.
No other questions are so important as........
What is life?
How does life come to be?
Where did life originate?
When did life originate?
Why?
Because we are social animals we also need to know......
How can we live together in peace?
How can we live without destroying the planet?
How can we eliminate disease?
How can we prolong our lives and avoid extinction?
How can we colonise the universe?
With so many important things to ponder there really isn't any time for what you call "going out and enjoying life". Is there?

Do you mean the deep meaning of life?....After a certain age you stop pondering and start living....now that age is up to you!
I chose life and I learned a lot......and my ideas sure have changed!!!
