You reckon it funds the public services and NHS. Why are some people not allowed the same drugs as everyone else then when hundreds of thousands are spent on a pretty satue for a front of a hospital?
The police are either are not allowed to do their job or dont want to do their job properly and actually get the criminals.
The entire legal system is in disarray and judges, who's wages we pay will not punish criminals enough.
I think its time that we forced the government to spend our money wisely, not billions on red tape and wars.

The trouble is the government thinks its appropiate to take your taxes before its even paid to you.
I say if nobody worked then the government would have to do as we say, not what suits mp's pension plans.

I think this is a very good question, When I needed the police they did not help me. When I complained to the council they did not help, When I went to my MP Richard caborn he did not help even though I took documents to him. When I lived in England I wanted a job I was cabable of doing and paying a correct wage and I never got it in England. I think if everyone refused to pay taxes they would be in a fix as there are not enough prisons to house everyone, it would cause them piles and piles of paperwork and would cost them more in the long run. I say Everyone should make a stand.

Hello.I like this question! Imagine 60 million people all refusing to pay tax of any kind to this ungrateful wasteful useless Labour government and its agencies!

The government would not be able to function after a few days and neither would any councils. There would be no public services working within days with hospitals, schools, sick and elderly affected the worse. The streets wouldn't be swept, the dead wouldn't get buried, the drains wouldn't be cleaned, the rubbish wouldn't be collected, the criminals wouldn't be jailed and,the best of all,the Money Monster known as the E.U. wouldn't get a penny to run it corrupt organisations! Hang on - isn't what I've written about the CONserative Party of the 1970s?!

OMG,it IS!

A few would be imprisoned a few more would be shot in the subsequent 'riot' following the peaceful demonstration and the rest would just pay up rather than die in the police raids at the houses of those who later were suspected of being involved.

And all for what?

The amount of income tax paid is only enough to pay back the treasury for the money the government borrows to pay for borrowing the money in the first place.

And it balances the finances of the least wealthy to ensure they never save enough to be free from the debt and have to work for life for an end gain of 'zero'... i.e. Slavery.

Considering the amount of jobs that are funded through direct taxation several million people would become unemployed. We would have no armed forces, benefits offices, rubbish collection, hospitals, police, fire brigade and so on. Society would break down within 24 hrs. The government and councils would be powerless as we became a lawless society....

Just see what would happen - if you think jails are overcrowded now - it would be filled with not only druggies but rebel "nontax- payers" then we would REALLY see some pathetic works by governments - not just the USA but every country in the world! How many deaths would occur???

Federal tax blows. They take 4 months of your salary. For what? To fight a BS war on terror and occupy Iraq for 10 years so Bush's cronies can get in on the oil revenue and Haliburton can get no bid contracts while the troops have second rate armor and lack APC's.

Our roads? lol that's a good one. They're about in the same shape as our bridges and they;ve bent my Bimmers aftermarket wheels (cry). How about our shite healthcare and shite schools...riches nation on earth and we rank around 30 in both.

How about sealing the border and actually stopping narcotics? War on Drugs my ***....how much has the CIA made on drugs?

Our counrty is one of the most corrupt on earth. Let's not even get into the "Federal Reserve".

Let the roads, parks, and interstates go to hell; watch as rampant anarchy develops from a lack of policemen, continue to feed children who parent's will not, and gloat in elitism as the rest of the populace never learns how to read.
