Open windows and provide ventilation, get a spray bottle. mix 1/2 bleach with 1/2 water and spray all the tiles well. Before they have a chance to dry, like after about 5-10 min, give a light scrubing with one of those plastic scrubbing pads used for teflon pans. (Or even one of those things on a stick to clean glasses) No real elbow power should be needed. Rinse well and your tiles should be not only clean but free from mildew and mold.
If not....you really do have a serious problem that requires alot of scrubbing....but repeat, using gloves.
A good steam cleaner workers miracles too!

Best time to clean your bathroom tiles is just after you have had a shower. With all the condensation in the bathroom it´s a perfect time to clean them. Just wipe with a cloth , then leave the bathroom window open. they will dry quick and leave a nice shine. When you do your monthly cleaning of the bathroom use hot water and any kind of bathroom cleaner. Also if you look for a product called Viakal this will remove any lime deposit from the sinks and baths and even your shower door if you have them

Make your own cleaner and I know you will love it. Take 1/2tsp Liquid dish detergent,1 cup of vinegar,1/4Th cup of rinse agent Jet Dry( in the aisle with the detergents) Mix together and put in a spray bottle You can double this so you have more. Now every day or every other day just spray the tiles. By the third day you will see how shiny they are and clean too. The best product I can suggest.

I assume you are talking ceramic tile. Try wiping them down with shaving cream, use a fingernail brush in the grout lines, then wipe off with damp cloth.

Mr. Clean, baking soda, a nylon scrubber for the field and an electric tooth brush for the grout.
If it is really nasty, mix borax and lemon juice into a paste and scrub.

I use lime-away, it removes all calcium and scale deposits, leaving a white shiny grout and clean tiles.

most high powered domestic cleaners work well but if the residue is too thick & mouldy, I use a jet steamer.. it fires out steam at a high pressure through a small nozzle & kills the germs & washes them loose.
