There are several reasons. Actually, Hitler was poised to attack Switzerland, but didn't. Read about it here:

Under "Why did Hitler not attack Switzerland?" about half way down the page.

Hope this helps!

I had heard yet do no longer understand the source that Hitler, threatening Switzerland asked the President of Switzerland what he could do if he invaded with a million adult males. Switzerland had 0.5 of million adult males on the time and that they have got been all required to very own rifles and prepare each 300 and sixty 5 days. The president of Switzerland advised Hitler without hesitation that they could all shoot two times. And all of us understand Hitler did no longer invade Switzerland.

Switzerland is surrounded by extremely high mountains and it would have been extremely difficult to invade, is the first and foremost that comes to mind. He was already having difficulty with the harsh winters on the Russian front. Conditions were less than ideal to invade, and historically Switzerland has always been neutral. Any encroachment on his part would have infuriated any and all of the countries who had chosen not to enter into the war who may then have eventually sided with the Allies against him.

There are two possible answers to this question.
1. He probably knew that the whole of Europe would turn immediately against him if he attacked the one country known by everyone for its neutrality.
2. Switzerland, like many European countries, has a system of conscription in place (a draft, if you will). Anyone that would otherwise be eligible for military service is conscripted into the reserves, and is activated for regular service for 30 days out of the year, I believe. They train throughout the year, and unlike other reserve militaries, they are obliged to take their gear home with them, weapons included. Who, in his right mind, would invade a country where every man between the ages of 18 and 65 is armed to the teeth, and has the training to make those weapons effective? It would be suicide.

Switzerland was no threat, he had to take out France, and England first, then he would take out Russia. Once he had all of Europe and had no threats to his Reich, he would have taken over Switzerland after that. It would have taken too much time to attack Switzerland in the alps, he had to take out france quickly and his blitz wouldnt have been fast enough if Switzerland was on the list of things to take.

The Swiss agreed to act as money launderers and encouraged their banks to accept funds from the Reich.

Don't let anyone tell you the Swiss were neutral.

They cashed in off the Nazis big time.
