"If you insult people and their beliefs and try to push your ways on them, it would result in a fight." This is exactly what anti-gay society does to homosexuals. The gay agenda/fight is to be treated with dignity and respect, like any human being would want to be treated. Gays should be able to live their lives openly, without being antagonized, just as heterosexuals do. We cannot be silent about our sexuality if we are to combat the bigotry we face. Are the gays the ones spreading hate and intolerance? Nope.
I wish the gay rights movement had been at the point that it is today, when I was a younger. Then maybe I wouldn't have had to grow up feeling like the world didn't want me, and that there was no place for me in it. That's a harsh and bleak reality for a kid to face alone.
Imagine if a child of your own or a family member had to deal with being gay. Would you want them to suffer as others do? Does being gay make someone less than human to you?

If where you grew up insulting people and pushing ideas on them was asking for a fight, then my friend, you have it backwards. The LGBT community is not asking for a fight. They are answer the request for one. The conservatives and homophobes are the ones insulting us and trying to push their views on us.
As far as gay agenda, I must have missed the meeting where they handed those out. Do we have an agenda? Could someone email me a copy of it? I need it. I hear a lot about it, but I am really too busy just trying to live my life and be treated equally to go look for it.

I'm answering from an Australian point of view, but since it's currently a world issue, it's still relevant. ^_^
Homosexuals are advocating for people to treat them equally. Homosexuals are denied some human rights (such as the right to marry freely) in Australia; and there have been pushes for similar discriminatory legislation to be brought in, in other countries (such as America). They are asking for the government not to treat them as second class citizens.
All historically there have been violations of human rights, and the people who fought tirelessly to be treated equally in society are hailed as heroes. Many indigenous cultures were treated as second class citizens and now the people who opposed that are seen as bigotted narcissists. Homosexuals don't go around insulting everyone and pushing their beliefs on others any more than anyone else in society. Have you considered the idea that people who say as much might be homophobic themselves and blowing everything out of proportion to suit their own narcissistic view. Have you considered that if you scorn and demean someone else, then they might insult you simply because you deserved it for treating them as badly.
I don't see how advocating to be given some of the basic human rights that everyone else is already entitled to, can be seen as "pushing your ways on them".
One last thing:
If the government said heterosexual marriages were illegal; would you a see people speaking out against that as "pushing your ways on them"? I'm from Australia, and homosexual marriage was made illegal here. That's the only thing homosexuals are really advocating for here that I know of. You should be proud that your government isn't so bigoted as to deny a basic human right, instead of gunning down those that stand up for and protect it.

I don't see the LGBT community pushing their beliefs down people's throats. We just want to be heard and show the world how many gay people there are in our country. In some areas people DO rally behind the gay community. We have gay cruises, gay stores, gay resorts...etc. In other words we have money, and yes America loves money.

Well, there's a copy of the agenda on my sister's fridge...get bread, milk, cheese, potatoes, jelly, peanut butter, send a card to Grandma, call Mom after work...
My, what a sinister agenda! A grocery list and two notes to say hello to our elders! ACK!
There is no such thing as the 'gay agenda', other than their personal to-do and grocery lists.

I agree to a certain point however this stance that many homosexuals are taking is no different then any other culture has attempted to come out of the shadows. It was always a fight, so it isn't really "asking for a fight" it's asking for your rights to be mandatory not just given from whoever feels like it that day.

No.
There is no "gay agenda".
There is not one person trying to force someone to be gay against their will. If someone finds it insulting that others have the strength of character and intestinal fortitude to stand up, be themselves, and demand the right to marry whom they love, they need to get over it.

You're just being idiotic. There is no "gay agenda'. I'm a pretty intelligent heterosexual male, and I'm pretty sure I would have picked up on it if there was one.
Do you think the same thing about black people, and racists being "forced" to accept them?

I'm not gay and I don't feel like anyones pushing me to do anything. If I suddenly found myself in a crowd advocating homosexuality i wouldn't feel the sudden urge to be gay. If you're able to change you're sexual orientation by someone simply suggesting that you change it then you were probably gay to begin with.
